Excess Population’s Effect On Enviornment | Overpopulation- A Major Issue Of The World

An Essay And Article on Problem of Excess Population

The Excess Population is a great problem for the world today. The earth has limited resources so it can cater to limited number of living organisms. But uncontrolled growth of excess population may disturb this balance. In future we may face resource crunch i.e. demand will be more than supply. That will be catastrophic. It should also be noted that among number of organisms it is only the man, whose population is’ growing at an uncontrolled rate. It is also worth mentioning here that population is mainly increasing, in developing countries i.e. in the countries of Asia and China. Developed countries have already stabilized their excess population i.e. their death rate and birth rate are almost equal. So it is now turn of Excess Populationdeveloping countries to stabilize their excess population. About half of the world’s excess population lives in China and India. So these two countries have huge responsibilities on their shoulders. China has taken many effective measures to check its excess population growth. So China will be able to stabilize its excess population in near future. But Indians are yet to take any effective measures. Though “Indian government has taken some helps from time to time, those sporadic steps are not enough to solve this gigantic problem, The road to “excess population stabilization” is long, arduous and full of pitfalls.
Excess PopulationExcess Population is a complex problem and if results from many
factors. Poverty, poor medical facilities, superstitious beliefs, illiteracy
and early marriage are some major reasons behind it increase. Till now
most of measures that the government took were direct in nature and
catered to one of the reasons. The government has done very good work
in the field of birth control. There are many equipment available in the market which can check unwanted birth.

Infant Mortality Rate To Check the Excess Population

We are yet to check our high Infant Mortality Rate (IMR). We are yet
to yet rid of diseases like polio, diphtheria, etc. Many women still die while
giving birth. We have not will been able to provide a good medical facilities’
in villages. About one-third of our excess population still lives below poverty Line (BPL). For them, more children means more hands available for work. They will not switch to two-child norm unless they are certain of economic freedom. Most of these people are illiterates; they fail to understand that more children means further division in their property, if any. That their children will bepoorer than them.

So, the movement has to take comprehensive measures which should cater all reasons behind the Excess Population increase.
